List of Kenya Utalii College Diploma Courses

1. Diploma in Hotel Management

It is a three-year diploma program that teaches International Standard hotel management certification.

Local students admissions requirements:

  • Aggregate: C Plain
  • KUC graduates of the 1½ or 2-year certificate (Hotel related) courses who obtained with Distinction or Credit, English C+ and Math / Business Studies C- or any other comparable qualification, can apply.
  • The ideal age for the students is 18 to 30 years old.
  • A foreign language is a benefit in and of itself.

Requirements for International Students

  • GCE, IGCE, IB, and other globally recognized certificates
  • At least one principal passes at the Advanced Level. “O” level, or equivalent with credits in both English Language and Math 2nd Division of “O” Level, or Equivalent With Credit in Both English Literature and Mathematics
  • Age: 18-30 years
  • A second language is a plus.

2. Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management

The three-year Diploma program provides extensive management training in travel and tour enterprises.

Admissions Requirements

  • Aggregate: C Plain
  • Also, the indicated minimum grades in the following subjects:
  • English C+ and Mathematics/ Geography C- or equivalent qualification or KUC graduates of the 11/2 or 22-year certificate (Tourism Related) courses may apply if they passed with Distinction or Credit.
  • Age: 18-30 years
  • Foreign Language is an added advantage

International Students

  • Aggregate: GCE, IGCE, IB, and Other internationally recognized certificates.
  • At least one principal passes at the Advanced Level. 2nd Division at “O” Level, or equivalent with proper credits in both English Language and Mathematics
  • Age: 18-30 years
  • Foreign Language is an added advantage

3. Kenya Utalii College Degree Courses

Kenya Utalii College, in collaboration with the University of Nairobi (Faculty of Arts), invites applications for admission to the Module II programs listed below:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management
  • Bachelor of Arts in Travel and Tourism Management

Admissions Requirements:

  • KCSE with a C+ or equivalent
  • KCSE with a C plain or equivalent Plus a Diploma or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • A degree from a recognized University or equivalent

  • Tuition per Course Unit: BA – Ksh 12,000
  • Other Charges Per Semester
  • Registration – Ksh 1,000
  • Library – Ksh 1,000
  • Computer/Lab charges – Ksh 5,000 Annually
  • Student ID – Ksh 500 Annually
  • Medical Emergency – Ksh 5,000 Annually
  • Activity Fee – Ksh 2,000 Annually

1. HouseKeeping and Laundry Techniques

The House Keeping Course exposes you to control cleaning equipment, materials, supplies, Guest Room Service and Maintenance, Cleaning Methods and Procedures, and Occupational Health & Safety.

  • Course Duration – 3 Months
  • Tuition Fee – Ksh 40,000.00 or $ 690 for non-Kenyans students

2. LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING TECHNOLOGY

This course is designed to teach the trainee how to run laundry, and it covers washing materials and management, laundry operations procedures, and linen control.

  • Course Duration – 3 Months
  • Tuition Fee – Kshs 30,000.00 or US$670 for non-Kenyans students

Course Requirements

  • An Aggregate of C- in KCSE.
  • Indicated minimum grades in the following subjects
  • C- in the English Language
  • D+ in Mathematics
  •  Foreign Languages like GCE, IGCE, and IB are an added advantage.
  • Other internationally recognized certificates.
  • 2nd Division at O Level, equivalent to a credit in English Language and a pass in Mathematics
  • Applicants should be between 18 – 30 years of age bracket
