For your information, 831,015 candidates sat for last year’s KCSE examinations. This is an increase of 83,854 candidates from last year’s 747,161.

How to Check KCSE Results via SMS

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has made it possible for students to check their KCSE results via SMS.

To do this, you need to send an SMS with your Index Number followed by the initials KCSE(UPPERCASE) to the shortcode 20076.

The SMS should be in the format: Index Number KCSE. For example, if your Index Number is 1234567, you would send the SMS: 1234567 KCSE to 20076.

The cost of sending an SMS to check KCSE results is Ksh. 25 per SMS on all networks.

How to Check KCSE Results online via KNEC Login Portal.

Unfortunately, according to KNEC, only headteachers can check the KCSE results online.

Your results can only be accessed via short message services (SMS) immediately after the release using the method described above.

What about the results slip? Can I download the KCSE Result Slip online?

No! KCSE results slips can only be obtained from your school within a week or a month after the exam release date.

Your KCSE certificate will be sent to your school within eight months after the release of the results.

How do I check my KCSE results for the whole school?

To check the 2021 KCSE results for the whole school, visit your school’s noticeboard in person or the school’s website.

The headteacher will have the results and post them on the noticeboard or school website for all to see.

If your school has not released the results yet, you can wait a few days or contact the school to inquire when they plan to remove them.

If unsatisfied with your 2021 KCSE results, you can always opt for a remark or an appeal.
